Nepal and Uzbekistan established diplomatic relations on January 26, 2018. Both Nepal and Uzbekistan are landlocked nations, sharing common problems and challenges in their development. The bilateral trade between Nepal and Uzbekistan is small. According to the Department of Customs of Nepal, the total value of exports in the fiscal year 2081-82 was Rs. 14, 830,000, while the value of imports was Rs. 15,120,000. A small Nepali diaspora of around 100 is in Uzbekistan, that includes students in medicine, but the number varies from time to time.
