Press Release on the Presentation of Credentials by HE the Ambassador to the President of Pakistan

His Excellency Mr. Tapas Adhikari has presented his Letters of Credence as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Nepal to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to His Excellency Dr. Arif Alvi, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, amidst a special ceremony held in Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad, today.

During the presentation, Ambassador Adhikari conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of Right Honorable President Mrs. Bidya Devi Bhandari, and the Right Honorable Prime Minister Mr. K P Sharma Oli as well as from the people of Nepal for the personal health and happiness of the President of Pakistan and continued progress and prosperity of friendly people of Pakistan.

His Excellency the President welcomed and congratulated His Excellency Mr. Adhikari as Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan. While recalling his personal visit to Nepal, and the meeting with Rt. Honorable Prime Minister Mr. K P Sharma Oli in Baku, Azerbaijan in October 2019, he also mentioned about the friendly relations so happily exists between peoples of Nepal and Pakistan and assured his full cooperation to the Ambassador while discharging his duties in Pakistan.

His Excellency the President asked the Ambassador to convey his greetings and best wishes to the Right Honorable President of Nepal, the Right Honorable Prime Minister of Nepal and people of Nepal for their continued progress and prosperity.

Ambassador Mr. Adhikari expressed that the bilateral relationship between Nepal and Pakistan have always been cordial based on goodwill, mutual trust and cooperation. He further said that both the countries are founding members of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) and hold similar views on SAARC, United Nations and other important international forums. Ambassador Mr. Adhikari said that he would make sincere efforts to further enhance bilateral relations between Nepal and Pakistan.

Ambassador Mr. Adhikari also congratulated the Government and peoples of Pakistan for their vision to make a new Pakistan. He further mentioned that Nepal has taken the path of peace and prosperity and the Government of Nepal is focusing all their efforts on the well-being of the people of Nepal with the goal of ‘prosperous Nepal, happy Nepali.’

During the ceremony, Foreign Secretary HE Sohail Mahmood, Military Secretary of the President and high officials of the office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan were present.
